Printing out promo materials for our childcare

We used to give prospective parents a basic pamphlet when they walked through the centre, but we soon realised many of them were not calling us back. We are just a small centre, but we are competing with chains of childcares that have dedicated marketing staff. I think we offer a service that's just as good, if not better, but we have to make sure that our promo material shows us off to our very best. This blog is dedicated to help other early childhood service provider get great printed promotional materials to help attract new families to use their services.

How artificial intelligence is revolutionising commercial printers

by Irene Andrews

As critical as printing services are, this process hasn't particularly had a reputation for efficiency. In fact, businesses waste pages upon pages of paper every year on unnecessary or inefficient printing. The good news is that artificial intelligence is being used to make printers more efficient.

AI has penetrated almost every industry, and it comes with numerous benefits. From reducing waste to automating mundane tasks, AI is a critical technology that every commercial establishment should embrace. And when it comes to printing, AI can be used to design highly customised print jobs, improve data security and make the printing process faster. Here are some use cases of AI in commercial printers.

1. Better use of paper

Over the years, printer manufacturers have been looking for more efficient ways of reducing paper wastage. From better ink cartridges to print-release stations, there are many tools that are available to make your printers use less paper.

AI has taken paper management to a whole new level. Sensors placed on the printer can record activity, print job preferences, time of usage, and other relevant variables. This data can then be used to recommend better printing formats that use less paper. For example, employees may receive a prompt to print on both sides of the paper or to avoid printing the same project twice. AI tools can also provide recommendations on better graphics, font choices, or paper layout so as to maximise paper use.

2. Remote printing

Remote printing is another brainchild of artificial intelligence. AI tools such as machine learning can be used to connect multiple devices to commercial printers so that employees have an easier time printing even when away from their work stations. For example, AI makes it easier for smartphones, tablets, and other devices to communicate with smart printers and speed up the printing process. No more waiting to get back to your work computer just to prepare a report for the board.

3. Advanced data security

Data security has become a growing concern with commercial printers. If the printer itself and connected devices aren't secured against cyber-attacks, hackers may be able to access sensitive information and cause harm. AI has made it easier for companies to detect and prevent threats from numerous sources. From malware to phishing attempts, AI tools can apply security patches and network tools that keep threats away from your printing jobs.

4. More customised print jobs

AI has also made it easier for companies to personalise their printing jobs. Because this technology collects and analyses data from previous printing activity, you can receive insights into how customers prefer brochures, catalogues, and direct mail.
